My Jubilee Cushion design is on the cover of Let's Get Crafting Knit and Crochet Issue 40 out now. So excited about it being showcased as the the main cover photograph. I really enjoyed creating the knitting pattern and chart for the cushion and hope lots of knitters have fun making it.

Wow, that looks brilliant Karen! I feel like I should knit that for my Royal-mad friend, but I'm not the quickest knitter, so doubt I would get it done in time!
How long does it take to knit please?
Hi Corinna
The cushion front is worked in two stages. First stage is knitting the surface area (lilac and blue) then the second phase is sewn on in swiss darning. (Darning is where you use the chart provided and stitch the design onto the surface area replicating the knitted stitches). Both phases are easy to do. The knitting is quick and can be done in front of the TV, however the darning takes the most time but is rewarding.
I didn't time myself in the production because I was designing and working and tweaking things as I went. If I were to knit it straight from the pattern in the evenings in amongst other things i'm doing I would probably say it would take me two weeks. Knitting the surface piece would take two evenings and then the darning the rest of the time.
